BENJAMIN TRYON 6.6g, fourth son of Nathaniel Tryon 5.5g and Mary (Strickland) Tryon, was born at Glastonbury, Conn., no date. He married Maria H. Gay or Harriet M. Gay, of Manchester, Oct. 28, 1849, by Aaron Snow, and they lived at Bolton, Conn. Later they lived in Albany, N.Y. We find names for only one boy and one girl:

FRANKLIN KINNE 6.15a, first son of Mary (Stevens) Kinne 5.7f and Nathan Kinne, was born at Glastonbury, Conn., July 28, 1807, and died at West Stockbridge, Mass., July 17, 1881, aged 74 years. He married Paulina Prindle, daughter of Elijah Prindle and Sarah (Ward) Prindle, on Feb. 21, 1829.

CHARLES KINNE 6.15b, second son of Mary (Stevens) Kinne 5.7f and Nathan Kinne, was born Dec. 12, 1808, and died at Austerlitz, N.Y., Sept. 30, 1882, aged 78 years. He married Lucretia Gott.

THOMAS S. KINNE 6.15c, third son of Mary (Stevens) Kinne 5.7f and Nathan Kinne, was born at Great Barrington, Mass., Aug. 16, 1810, and died at the same place, Jan. 3, 1858, aged 48 years. He married Vina Burget, daughter of Peter Burget and Mercy (---) Burget.

NATHAN KINNE, JR. 6.15d, fourth son of Mary (Stevens) Kinne 5.7f and Nathan Kinne, was born at Great Barrington, Mass., July 24, 1812, and died at West Stockbridge, Mass., Aug. 1, 1869, aged 57 years. He was a wheelwright and carriage maker. He married Melinda Ward, daughter of Obadiah Ward, Jr. and Lydia (Smith) Ward, on June 22, 1836. She was born May 17, 1816, at West Stockbridge, and died there Jan. 18, 1892, aged 56 years. Both buried in West Center Cemetery, West Stockbridge. They had six children:

MARY KINNE 6.15e, first daughter of Mary (Stevens) Kinne 5.7f and Nathan Kinne, was born at Great Barrington, Mass., Mar. 20, 1814, and died at Glastonbury, Conn., Mar. 22, 1903, aged 89 years. She married Selden House, son of Elijah House and Sally (McKee) House.

CAROLINE KINNE 6.15f, second daughter of Mary (Stevens) Kinne 5.7f and Nathan Kinne, was born at Great Barrington, Mass., Sept. 16, 1816, and died Sept. 5, 1891, aged 75 years. She married J. H. McKee.

CORNELIA A. KINNE 6.15g, third daughter of Mary (Stevens) Kinne 5.7f and Nathan Kinne, was born at Great Barrington, Mass., Feb. 10, 1819. She married Solomon J. Chatfield, son of Curtiss Chatfield and Laura (Johnson) Chatfield, at Great Barrington, May 25, 1840.

FANNY S. KINNE 6.15h, fourth daughter of Mary (Stevens) Kinne 5.7f and Nathan Kinne, was born at Great Barrington, Mass., July 25, 1821, and died Jan. 11, 1904, aged 83 years. She married Chester Hollenbeck, at Alford, Mass. Notice of intent to marry was published Dec. 15, 1840.

LAURA S. KINNE 6.15i, fifth daughter of Mary (Stevens) Kinne 5.7f and Nathan Kinne, was born at Great Barrington, Mass., Feb. 7, 1825, and died at West Stockbridge, Mass., May 18, 1900, aged 75 years. She married Octavus Hollenbeck, son of David Hollenbeck and Tenisin (---) Hollenbeck. He was born at Edgemont.

POLLY TRYON 6.16a, daughter of Noah Tryon 5.9a and Fanny (Smith) Tryon, was born at Glastonbury, Conn., Aug. 26, 1806. At age 16, she married first, Hubbard Herlon, of Glastonbury, on Mar. 17, 1822, by Rev. Nathan B. Burgess. She married second, Julius Bidwell, date not known. He was born in 1805, and died Feb. 26, 1889, aged 84 years. She died May 18, 1874, aged 68 years. When Polly and Julius were both 54 years old, they had living with them a 15-year old girl, named Dora Hale.

RUTH TRYON 6.17a, first daughter of Capt. Isaac Tryon 5.9b and Elizabeth (Kimberley) Tryon, was born Jan. 18, 1773. She married Anson Chapman, on Nov. 17, 1801. (See quote on Anna Tryon 6.17g below.) At least one child, a daughter:

ELIZABETH TRYON 6.17b, second daughter of Capt. Isaac Tryon 5.9b and Elizabeth (Kimberley) Tryon, was born Dec. 15, 1774. In her 26th year, she married Roswell Pelton, of Chatham, Conn., Oct. 29, 1801, by William Lockwood. (See quote on Anna Tryon 6.17g below.) They had at least one child, a daughter:

ELIJAH TRYON 6.17c, first son of Capt. Isaac Tryon 5.9b and Elizabeth (Kimberley) Tryon, was born at Eastbury, Conn., Aug. 28, 1774 (?), and was baptized into the Eastbury Church on Oct. 6, 1774 or 1776. He married Fanny Tryon at Glastonbury, Conn., Dec. 12, 1808, by Prince Hawes.

ISAAC TRYON 6.17d, second son of Capt. Isaac Tryon 5.9b and Elizabeth (Kimberley) Tryon, was born at ---, Conn., Mar. 11, 1780, and was baptized on Apr. 16, 1780. He was a minister, and married, but name of wife not known. He died June 30, 1819, aged 39 years. They had one son

KIMBERLEY TRYON 6.17e, third son of Capt. Isaac Tryon 5.9b and Elizabeth (Kimberley) Tryon, was born at Glastonbury, Conn., no date shown, and was baptized there July 6, 1782. He died at Glastonbury, Jan. 11, 1824, aged 42 years.

WILLIAM TRYON 6.17f, fourth son of Capt. Isaac Tryon 5.9b and Elizabeth (Kimberley) Tryon, was born in New York, Sept. 1, 1784, and was baptized on Oct. 30th, the same year. He married Jane Phillips, a daughter of Miles Phillips, "an English gentleman who was very wealthy before he came to this country with his wife and children and five servants in the time of Napoleon I. Miles was swindled out of his wealth, having bought land in America which proved to be the Allegheny Mountains, and was consequently soon reduced to poverty. He died in Philadelphia and his daughter Jane was "brought up" by an uncle in New York City. She angered her uncle terribly by eloping with the dashing, handsome William Tryon." (Quote from Rev. J. Herbert Brown's booklet.) They were married at Stamford, Conn., date not found. William was killed in St. Louis, Mo., in 1820, while on an Aster Expedition for furs. ANNA TRYON 6.17g, third daughter of Capt. Isaac Tryon 5.9b and Elizabeth (Kimberley) Tryon, was born at Buckinham, Conn., no date shown, and was baptized Oct. 29, 1786. She married Mr. Reed. According to D.A.R. Pension Papers, vol. 30, printed in 1815, "Widow (Anne's mother Elizabeth) also received pension from Isaac Tryon 5.9b. Elizabeth died before 1838, leaving five children: Elijah, Clifford, Ruth Chapman, Elizabeth Pelton, Ann Reed." Anna and Mr. Reed had at least one child, a daughter:

MARSHALL TRYON 6.17h, fifth son of Capt. Isaac Tryon 5.9b and Elizabeth (Kimberley) Tryon, no date, was baptized Nov. 8, 1789. He married Anna Eliza Hawk, but no date is given. Marshall died in 1838, aged 49 years. Four children are found in the record:

CLESARD TRYON 6.17i, sixth son of Capt. Isaac Tryon 5.9b and Elizabeth (Kimberley) Tryon, no birth date, was baptized July 28, 1792. He died Mar. 30, 1793, in his first year.

CLIFFORD TRYON 6.17j, seventh son of Capt. Isaac Tryon 5.9b and Elizabeth (Kimberley) Tryon, no birth date, was baptized July 28, 1792. He died Mar. 30, 1793, in his first year.

MABEL TRYON 6.20a, first daughter of Elisha Tryon 5.19c and Mabel (White Boardman) Tryon, was born, no recorded date, and baptized Aug. 21, 1785. She married Jabez Cornwell, of Westfield, no date. He died in 1816. They had three children:

He married Phoebe (Roberts) Clark, a widow, Apr. 17, 1805. (Another source says he married Betsey Pike, no date.) Eight children are recorded:

Nathaniel Boardman and Mercy (Savage) Boardman, May 8, 1831. She was born at Middletown, Sept. 8, 1813, and died Jan. 22, 1869, aged 63 years. He died Apr. 23, 1887, aged 79 years. LUCRETIA HUBBARD 6.21c, third daughter of Sarah (Tryon) Hubbard 5.19d and Abijah Hubbard, was born Sept. 22, 1786.

POLLY HUBBARD 6.21d, fourth daughter of Sarah (Tryon) Hubbard 5.19d and Abijah Hubbard, was born Sept. 17, 1788 and died Jan. 16, 1790.

HANNAH TRYON 6.24c, third daughter of David Tryon 5.19g and Deborah (Brainard) Tryon, was born Oct. 6, 1791, and died Jan. --, 1795.

ROXANNA TRYON 6.24d, fourth daughter of David Tryon 5.19g and Deborah (Brainard) Tryon, was born Aug. 13, 1794, and died Jan. --, 1795.

ROXANNA TRYON 6.24e, fifth daughter of David Tryon 5.19g and Deborah (Brainard) Tryon, was born in 1795. She married Allen Brainard or Braynard, probably a cousin, Dec. 18, 1828. She had one daughter, and drowned herself in the Connecticut River, Sept. 9, 1833, when she was 38 years of age and her little daughter was about 6 months old. The daughter's name was:

PHINEAS SPAULDING 6.25a, son of Prudence (Tryon) Spaulding 5.19h and Elisha Spaulding, was born July 10, 1796.

SUSANNA SPAULDING 6.25b, first daughter of Prudence (Tryon) Spaulding 5.19h and Elisha Spaulding, was born July 3, 1798, and married Mr. Hall.

ELIZABETH A. SPAULDING 6. 25c, second daughter of Prudence (Tryon) Spaulding 5.19h and Elisha Spaulding, was born Sept. 15, 1800. She married Sylvester Cornwell in 1816, by Rev. Hirsdey G. Nobler, pastor of the Episcopal Church of Middletown, Conn. They had four children and adopted another. Their names were:

DANIEL WHITMORE 6.28a, first son of Olly (Tryon) Whitmore 5.19k and Gurdon Whitmore, was born Oct. 2, 1799.

TITUS WHITMORE 6.28b, second son of Olly (Tryon) Whitmore 5.19k and Gurdon Whitmore, was born Nov. 3, 1802.

GURDON WHITMORE 6.28c, third son of Olly (Tryon) Whitmore 5.19k and Gurdon Whitmore, was born Aug. 31, 1804.

OLLY WHITMORE 6.28d, first daughter of Olly (Tryon) Whitmore 5.19k and Gurdon Whitmore, was born Nov. 2, 1806.

AMOS FULLER TRYON 6.29b, second son of Amos Tryon 5.191 and Lucy (Hall) Tryon, no date. He was baptized Aug. 4, 1805, and died in 1825 unmarried.

MARY ANN TRYON 6.29c, first daughter of Amos Tryon 5.191 and Lucy (Hall) Tryon, no date. She married Julius N. Ives, Sept. 17, 1828. She died, leaving one child:

WILLIAM TRYON 6.29f, fourth son of Amos Tryon 5.191 and Lucy (Hall) Tryon, was born Mar. 10, 1820. He married first, Gertrude Pier, of Newark, N.J., no date. She died Jan. --, 1856. They had six children:

Sept. 26, 1841, by Rev. Arthur Granger. She was born Sept. 13, 1823, and died in Hartford, Conn., Aug. 28, 1894. They had six children:

MARY H. TRYON 6.38b, second daughter of Capt. Enoch Tryon 5.22a and Sarah (Crowell) Tryon, no date. She married Nelson Thayer, Feb. 4, 1828.

MATTHEW CROWELL TRYON 6.38c, first son of Capt. Enoch Tryon 5.22a and Sally (Crowell) Tryon, no date. He married Mary Welles, and sailed in 1849 around Cape Horn for California, but died of fever and was buried in New Orleans, La. They had at least one son: Enoch Hubbard 7.75a.

ELIZABETH TRYON 6.38d, third daughter of Capt. Enoch Tryon 5.22a and Sarah (Crowell) Tryon, no date. She married Samuel Emmons, of Lancaster, S.C., at East Haddam, Conn., July 29, 1834, by Rev. John R. Crane.

ENOCH TRYON 6.38e, second son of Capt. Enoch Tryon 5.22a and Sarah (Crowell) Tryon, was born June 19, 1817. He married Lucy A. Bidwell, daughter of Daniel Bidwell and Thankful (Hubbard) Bidwell, Sept. 9, 1848. She was born June --, 1822, and died in 1896. They had nine children:

DANIEL C. TRYON 6.38g, third son of Capt. Enoch Tryon 5.22a and Sarah (Crowell) Tryon, no date. He married Susan A. Williams, Nov. 22, 1849, by Rev. J. L. Dudley. He was a seafarer, and died in Middletown, Conn..

ALBERT G. TRYON 6.38h,- fourth son of Capt. Enoch Tryon 5.22a and Sarah (Crowell) Tryon, no date. He married Mrs. Jeremiah Griswold Snyder, a widow. He went to the California Gold Rush with his brother Augustus and his father.

AUGUSTUS TRYON 6.38i, fifth son of Capt. Enoch Tryon 5.22a and Sarah (Crowell) Tryon, no date. He married first, his niece Elizabeth ---, and they had five children:

LUCRETIA TRYON 6.38j, fifth daughter of Capt. Enoch Tryon 5.22a and Sarah (Crowell) Tryon, died in infancy.

AMOS FAIRCHILD 6.39a, first son of Lucretia (Tryon) Fairchild 5.22b and Elisha Fairchild, was born Sept. 20, 1795. He married Eliza Smith, date not known.

PHEBE FAIRCHILD 6.39b, first daughter of Lucretia (Tryon) Fairchild 5.22b and Elisha Fairchild, was born May 28, 1797. She married Moses Bidwell. Did they have a daughter Lucretia A., who married as his second wife, Alvir Birdsey, and they in turn have a daughter, Nellie May Birdsey, born at Middletown, Conn., who married Roswell S. Hill?

DAVID TRYON 6.77e, second son of James Tryon 5.29e and Polly R. (Saunders) Tryon, was born at Litchfield, Conn., Aug. 4, 1803, and died at Tryonville, Pa., Dec. 12, 1891, aged 88 years. He married Artemisia Stedman, daughter of Thankful Stedman, and sister of Amanda (see 6.77c), July 20, 1828, in Centerville, Pa. She was born at Litchfield, Oct. 9, 1808, and died at Tryonville, Dec. 24, 1871, aged 63 years. In 1821, David, aged 18, with his brother James 6.77c, aged 22, left Connecticut, and went to western Pennsylvania, located first at Centerville, which was then a new settlement, having been started by Charles Page. They remained there until the summer of 1838, engaging first in trapping for furs and later owning and operating a pulling and carding mill, three-quarters of a mile south of Centerville. While engaged in hunting and trapping, they made several trips back East, generally to Boston, Mass., for the purpose of disposing of the furs. These journeys were always made on foot. Having purchased from the Holland Land Co. a tract of 1400 acres of timber, mostly pine, the brothers removed, with their wives who were sisters, to the sight of the present village of Tryonville (named for them). David erected a log cabin on the east side of Oil Creek, a short distance southeast of the later Pennsylvania Railroad station, and James located on the west side of Oil Creek. Here the brothers reared their families of eleven children each. The David Tryon homestead, built by David in 1840 from lumber and kiln dried at his own mill, is still standing and in excellent condition in 1982. In the Tryonville Cemetery, his gravestone is inscribed: "Gone but not forgotten," and her stone is engraved: "In God was her trust." They had a family of four sons and seven daughters:

This young couple migrated to Marietta, Ohio, where their first child was born. Later they moved to Morgan County, Ohio, where they both died, after raising a family of nine children. EPHRAIM SMITH 6.91a, first son of Ruth (Goodrich) Smith 5.40d and Josiah Smith, was born on a farm near Pawlett, Vt., Dec. 19, 1792. He married first, Elvira Barnum, but date is not shown. There were no children. Ephraim, at age 40, married second, Lucinda Pressey, at Granville, N.Y., on Sept. 27, 1838. She was a daughter of Mehitable Leslie Pressey, who died leaving three little girls. Lucinda was born at Clarmont, N. H., Nov. 20, 1889. She was "brought up" by Ephraim's aunt, Abigail Elizabeth Smith Hitchcock, of Granville, N.Y. Ephraim and Lucinda farmed in the vicinity of Pawlett for a few years, and their first two children were born there. He and his brother Josiah 6.91d went from Vermont to Sugar Grove, Ill., and bought land in June of 1843. The next spring they decided to bring their families. Joel 6.91c, unmarried, Noah 6.91b and his family, Ephraim and Josiah 6.91d with their families were all at the dock on Lake Erie when Josiah's wife advised him that she "would not go another step." This was a great blow to Josiah, who went back with her to the Green Mountains near New Londonderry and worked among the stones the rest of his life. Ephraim died at Sugar Grove, Nov. 27, 1881, aged 89 years, and Lucinda died at Aurora, Ill., Apr. 20, 1896. They had four children:

HENRY R. TRYON 6.97a, first son of Noah Tryon 5.45e and Elizabeth (Goodrich) Tryon, was born at Glastonbury, Conn., date missing. He became a stonemason in Hartford, and married first, Mary Jane Stevens, at Hartford, on Dec. 22, 1840, by Rev. J. S. Eaton. In 1877 his business was located at 174 Seymour St., Hartford. Henry later married second, Mrs. Gregory, a widow. He died Mar. 18, 1898.

RALPH H. TRYON 6.97b, second son of Noah Tryon 5.45e and Elizabeth (Goodrich) Tryon, was born at Glastonbury, Conn., Mar. 18, 1818. He married Mary Webster, no date. They had three children:

NOAH G. TRYON 6.97c, third son of Noah Tryon 5.45e and Elizabeth (Goodrich) Tryon, was born at Glastonbury, Conn., Aug. 10, 1820. He died at Shreveport, La., in 1862. (1898?).

ELIZABETH C. TRYON 6.97d, firzt daughter of Noah Tryon 5.45e and Elizabeth (Goodrich) Tryon, was born at Glastonbury, Conn., no date. She married Nelson Shepherd, a farmer, of Portland, Conn., Nov. 20, 1844, by Rev. George Huntington Nichols.

ANN J. TRYON 6.97e, second daughter of Noah Tryon 5.45e and Elizabeth (Goodrich) Tryon, was born at Glastonbury, Conn., date missing. She married Joseph E. Wilcox, a farmer, of Cromwell, Conn., at Middletown, Oct. 20, 1847, by Rev. G. H. Deshon.

JOHN EDWARDS TRYON 6.97f, fourth son of Noah Tryon 5.55e and Elilzabeth (Goodrich) Tryon, was born at Glastonbury, Conn., Apr. 31, 1824 or 1828. He was a farmer and a leading citizen of Glastonbury. He married first, Julia Ann Stevens, daughter of Joseph Stevens, of Glastonbury, on Dec. 11, 1850, by Rev. A. B. Chapen. Julia was born in 1829, and died at Glastonbury, Sept. 3, 1853, aged 24 years. They had two children:

John Edwards subsequently married second, Ruhamah F. Sparks, of East Glastonbury, at Glastonbury, Sept. 17, 1856, by Rev. Aaron Snow. She was born Dec. 10, 1828, and died at Glastonbury, Jan. 10, 1913. John Edwards represented the town of Hartford in the Legislature in 1863-64. He served four terms as Selectman, and seven years as Road Commissioner. They had four children:
