CLARISSA KINNE 7.11a, first daughter of Nathan Kinne, Jr. 6.15d and Melinda (Ward) Kinne, was born at West Stockbridge, Mass., Mar. 18, 1838, and died there Apr. 18, 1838, just 1 month old.

AGNES MARTHA KINNE 7.11b, second daughter of Nathan Kinne, Jr. 6.15d and Melinda (Ward) Kinne, was born at West Stockbridge, Mass., Jan. 8, 1840, and died there Dec. 20, 1841, just 1-1/2 months old.

FRANCES ADELLE KINNE 7.11c, third daughter of Nathan Kinne, Jr. 6.15d and Melinda (Ward) Kinne, was born at West Stockbridge, Mass., Aug. 28, 1843, and died at North Adams, Mass. She married Oliver L. Wood, on June 22, 1862. He was a corporal in Company B, Forty-ninth Massachusetts, and was evidently killed in the Civil War. No surviving children.

HENRY CLAY KINNE 7.11d, first son of Nathan Kinne, Jr. 6.15d and Melinda (Ward) Kinne, was born at West Stockbridge, Mass., Nov. 8, 1845, and died at the same place, May --, 1912, aged 66 years. He never married.

HARVEY COLE KINNE 7.11e, second son of Nathan Kinne, Jr. 6.15d and Melinda (Ward) Kinne, was born at West Stockbridge, Mass., Dec. 26, 1853, and died there Jan. --, 1912, aged 58 years. He married Carrie E. Cobb, June 1, 1881.

ARTHUR WARD KINNE 7.11f, third son of Nathan Kinne, Jr. 6.15d and Melinda (Ward) Kinne, was born at West Stockbridge, Mass., Sept. 26, 1856, and died at Great Barrington, Mass., May 15, 1923, aged 67 years. He married Mary Jane or Jennie Lewis, daughter of Horace Holden Lewis, Jr., and Gitty Ann (Hagaman) Lewis, at Alford, Mass., Oct. 28, 1882. She was born at Great Barrington, Apr. 12, 1860, and died at the same place, Nov., 14, 1938, aged 78 years. Both were buried at Green Lawn Cemetery, Hausatonic, Mass. They had four children:

ISAAC TRYON 7.21a, son of Isaac Tryon 6.17d and --- (---) Tryon, no date. He became a minister and married, probably Miss Marshall. No more information.

WILLIAM MILTON TRYON 7.23a, first son of William Tryon 6.17f and Jane (Phillips) Tryon, was born in New York City, Mar. 10, 1809, the eldest of five children. "Immediately after the death of his father, when he was some 11 years of age, he went to Connecticut to live with a wealthy uncle, with the view to receiving a liberal education, but because of ill health he soon returned to his mother in New York, where he took up the trade of tailor to help support her and the younger members of the family. In his 17th year, through the influence of a godly mother, *** he was converted and baptized *** into the fellowship of the South Baptist Church, New York City." (Quote from the writing of Rev. J. Herbert Brown.) At age 31 he was licensed to preach. He married Mrs. Louise Jacqueline (Reynolds) Higgins, a widow, at Wetumpka, S. Car., in 1820. He went to Texas as a missionary, and was the principal founder of Baylor University at Waco, Tex., Feb. 1, 1845. He was also chaplain of the Texas State Senate. In an epidemic of yellow fever, he visited his parishioners and contacted the disease and "on the evening of Nov. 16, 1847, at the age of 38, at Houston, Tex., he died in the arms of his devoted friend, J. W. Lawrence. Ten years later (May 11, 1857), Mrs. Tryon and this man were married."

This quote also from Rev. Brown. William Milton left, besides his widow, three children, and another was born a few months after his death. She died at Houston, Oct. 26, 1886. Their four children were:

According to Rev. Brown: "The following is inscribed on a pillar, dedicated to Rev. William Milton Tryon, on the campus of Baylor University, Waco, Tex.: Tryon - Leader - in Church and State - Born in New York City and educated at Mercer, Tryon was the second missionary sent to Texas by the American Baptist Home Missions Society. He served as the first corresponding secretary of the Texas Baptist Home Missions Society, as chaplain in the congress of the Republic of Texas, and as treasurer of the Texas Literary Institute. - Educator - Member of the committee appointed to secure from the Republic of Texas a charter for a Baptist educational institution, Tryon rejected Judge Baylor's suggestion that the school be named Tryon and into the application wrote the name Baylor. - William Milton Tryon - 1809-1847. - A Founder of Baylor - The idea of a Baptist university in Texas and of a Baptist State convention originated with Tryon. Active in the organization of the Texas Baptist Education Society, he became its first corresponding secretary and the first permanent president of the Board of Trustees of Baylor University.

JANE ELIZA TRYON 7.23b, first daughter of William Tryon 6.17f and Jane (Phillips) Tryon, was born in 1810. She married in 1830, but his name is missing. She died in 1831, aged 21 years.

JOSEPH TRYON 7.23d, second son of William Tryon 6.17f and Jane (Phillips) Tryon, was born in 1814. He married Sarah Lane, of Boston, in 1842. We find one daughter:

RUTH MARGARET TRYON 7.23e, third daughter of William Tryon 6.17f and Jane (Phillips) Tryon, was born in Connecticut, in 1821. In 1840, she married Alfred deForest Sellack, at Stamford, Conn. She died in 1889, aged 68 years. It is claimed they had seven children. We find names for only two:

WILLIAM TRYON 7.23f, third son of William Tryon 6.17f and Jane (Phillips) Tryon, no birth date given. He migrated to Lima, Peru, South America, married and had four children. No more is known of him.

MARSHALL H. TRYON 7.25a, son of Marshall Tryon 6.17h and Anna Eliza (Hawk) Tryon, was born in Connecticut, Jan. 15, 1812. He married Chloe or Chleore Chapman, of Hartford, Conn., by Rev. G. F. Davis, on Oct. 25, 1835.
CLEORE D. TRYON 7.25b, twin daughter of Marshall Tryon 6.17h and Anna Eliza (Hawk) Tryon, was born in Connecticut, Jan. 29, 1815.

RUTH TRYON 7.25c, twin daughter of Marshall Tryon 6.17h and Anna Eliza (Hawk) Tryon, was born in Connecticut, Jan. 29, 1815.

FRANK TRYON 7.25d, son of Marshall Tryon 6.17h and Anna Eliza (Hawk) Tryon, no date shown. She was born in 1836, and died in 1881. He was killed at the Battle of Stone River in 1862, aged 34 years. They had one daughter:

PHOEBE ALMINA TRYON 7.34b, daughter of Reuben R. Tryon 6.20f and Nancy (Boardman) Tryon, was born July 25, 1839, and died Apr. 11, 1891.

CHARLES LEVERETT TRYON 7.34c, son of Reuben R. Tryon 6.20f and Nancy (Boardman) Tryon, was born Sept. 12, 1844. He married Jennie M. Darrow, at Meriden, Conn., Mar. 26, 1867.

EMMA AUGUSTA TRYON 7.34d, daughter of Reuben R. Tryon 6.20f and Nancy (Boardman) Tryon, was born Mar. 25, 1847. She married John N. Holt, at Middletown, Conn., July 7, 1875.

CLARINDA TRYON 7.34e, daughter of Reuben R. Tryon 6.20f and Nancy (Boardman) Tryon, was born Feb. 5, 1852, and died Aug. 12, 1853, just 1-1/2 years old.

FREDERIC REUBEN TRYON 7.34f, son of Reuben R. Tryon 6.20f and Nancy (Boardman) Tryon, was born Jan. 17, 1854. He married Mary Ellen Roberts, at Middletown, Conn., Mar. 10, 1879. They had two daughters:

ALBERT CHAUNCEY TRYON 7.72c, second son of Daniel Charles Tryon 6.29g and Sarah Ann (Smith) Tryon, was born Sept. 26, 1855, and died Dec. 5, 1940. He married Thirza Dayton, Nov. 20, 1878. She was born Mar. 5, 1853, and died Mar. 21, 1919. They had three children:

GEORGE WEBSTER TRYON 7.109c, first son of David Tryon 6.77e and Artemesia (Stedman) Tryon, was born in Rome Township, Pa., Feb. 3, 1832. He assisted in forming Company I, 150th Regiment Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry in 1862, and was commissioned Second Lieutenant, then promoted to First Lieutenant. He was discharged Oct. 22, 1864. He engaged in agriculture, horticulture, and stock raising. He married Emma A. Cooke, daughter of Sherman T. Cooke and Cordelia (Jaqua) Cooke, and sister of Cornelia Elvira Cooke (see 7.109d), on Oct. 22, 1872, at Tryonville, Pa. She was a native of West Winstead, Conn., and was born Oct. 3, 1852. She died at Monrovia, Calif., Nov. 23, 1939. He died at Tryonville, Oct. 22, 1916, and after his death Emma lived with her sister Cornelia until 1925, when Cornelia died. George and Emma had one son:

MCCURE SEYMOUR TRYON 7.109e, second son of David Tryon 6.77e and Artemesia (Stedman) Tryon, was born at Tryonville, Pa., Jan. 18, 1836. He was in Co. I, 10th Regt. PRC, and was killed in the second battle of Bull Run, Aug. 30, 1862, aged 26 years. He was buried on the battlefield.

RACHEL TRYON 7.109f, fourth daughter of David Tryon 6.77e and Artemesia (Stedman) Tryon, was born at Tryonville, Pa., Apr. 24, 1838, and died at Waukegan, Ill., Nov. 1, 1929. She married Orrin Augustus Hotchkiss, of Meadville, Pa., Oct. 15, 1863. He was born in Randolph Twp., Pa., May 15, 1836, and died at Vineland, N.J., Oct. 21, 1884. As a young man, Orrin worked on the farm and taught in the District school. He graduated from Alleghany College in Meadville, Pa. He later practiced law in Meadville. During the Civil War he went to Washington, saw President Lincoln, and received permission to raise a regiment of volunteers, which was the 83rd Regiment of Pennsylvania Volunteers. He was commissioned a First Lieutenant. In 1876 they moved to Bradford, Pa. Because of poor health he retired from practice of law in 1881. When he died he left a widow, penniless and with debts, which because of poor health he was not able to pay. He also left three teen-age children. Her 19-year-old son Ernest died the next year, and Rachel, with her two daughters returned to Crawford County, Pa., where she supported the family and put the girls in school. The children were:

She married Rev. James K. Schaffer, a Methodist minister, Nov. 25, 1868. He was from Lawrence County, Pa., had served three years in the Union Army, and died suddenly in Ohio, Oct. 27, 1894. She was born at Winstead, Conn., Sept. 15, 1850, and died of heart failure at Titusville, Pa., Jan. 28, 1925, aged 75 years. They had four children:

She died there Aug. 29, 1930, aged 84 years. She was buried on the family lot at Tryonville. She never married.

ELLA ELIZABETH TRYON 7.109k, seventh daughter of David Tryon 6.77e and Artemesia (Stedman) Tryon, was born at Tryonville, Pa., Feb. 27, 1849, and died of pneumonia at the Ida Cribbs Memorial Rest Home in Conneautville, Pa., Apr. 4, 1931, aged 82 years. She taught music and enjoyed playing the piano until her death. She never married.

WILLIAM ELISHA TRYON 7.143a, first son of William Elijah Tryon 6.87d and Phoebe (Adams) Tryon, was born at Marietta, Ohio, May 1, 1814. He married Maria Ann Erwin, Oct. 31, 1838. She was born in Ohio on Apr. 16, 1823. He was a private in Company K, 161st Ohio Volunteer Infantry during the Civil War, from May 2 to Sept. 2, 1964, and in 1860 was a farmer. After his divorce from Maria Ann, he was in the National Military Home at Leavenworth, Kans., and after his discharge from the Home in April, 1893, he lived with the Craig's at Winfield, Kans., and died there of dropsy, Apr. 22, 1896, aged 82 years. Burial at Mount Vernon Cemetery, Winfield. In a letter to his son, William Leander 8.188c, in the early 1890's he said: The Tryon family is connected with the John Adams family. Governor Shadagee Tryon of Connecticut returned to England. William Tryon was a shipbuilder, Elijah Tryon of Vermont was the father of three boys and six girls. Jason Tryon of Kansas was my uncle, and was the father of three boys and four girls. Samuel Tryon was my uncle, and was the father of two boys and two girls. George Tryon and Joseph Tryon were in Canada. Abner Tryon was in Kentucky. I had six brothers and five sisters. Maria Ann was a granddaughter of Joseph Parker, who served in the War of 1812. She divorced William Elisha, date not known. She and her eldest daughter, Henrietta, with two children, George and Ella May Conner, left McConnellsville, Ohio, by river boat for Kansas some time in the spring of 1870. They left the boat at Kansas City, traveled overland to Garnet, Kans, where they were met by William Leander in a wagon, and finally arrived at Kickapoo Corral, near the present city of Winfield, where William Leander, his brother Alonzo, and brother-in-law William Conner were part of the sparse population.

Says Cora May (Conner) Hoffman 10.97a: "Granny Maria got down into Arkansas after 1870, and married a man, name unknown. Her grandson George Albert Conner 9.98f, at the age of 16, drove a team and covered wagon down there and brought her out." Later she married third, George A. Carew, and they lived at Sibley, Iowa, until his death. She then lived with her daughter "Hetty" 8.188a at Winfield in 1897-98. Her youngest daughter Frances 8.188f took her back to her home in Trimble, Ohio, in 1898, and she died there on May 5, 1900.

THEODORE S. TRYON 7.143f, fifth son of William Elijah Tryon 6.87d and Phoebe (Adams) Tryon, was born in Morgan County, Ohio, in 1831. He married Eliza A. Wagner, daughter of Levi Wagner and Elizabeth (Feltenberger) Wagner, in Gallia County, Ohio, Nov. 21, 1852. She was born in Harrison County, Ohio, in 1835. Theodore served as a private in Company K, 161st Regiment of Ohio Volunteer Infantry from May 2, 1864, to Sept. 2, 1864. He was a farmer in Morgan County in 1870, and his 81-year-old father was living with him, and was listed in the census as "old and infirm." In her genealogical booklet "We Follow the Wagner Trail," Mrs. Audrey (Wagner) Woodruff, of Kansas City, Mo., says of this couple: "It is not difficult to put together this picture from the few pieces that we have. In the 1850 and 1860 census there were many Tryon families living in Morgan County in the same neighborhood with the Wagner family. It is possible that Theodore and Eliza were young sweethearts as well as neighbors. In 1851 Levi (Eliza's father) moved to Gallia County, taking his family with him. In 1852 Theodore came to Gallia County and they were married." Their children were:

He was born in Morgan County, Ohio, Feb. 27, 1833, was a farmer, a Baptist, and a member of the I O O F. She died at the birth of her last daughter, in Nodaway County, Mo., Dec. 17, 1872. He enlisted in Ohio's 17th Regiment as a private, was promoted to corporal, and died in a hospital on July 6, 1863, from wounds received in a battle at Hoover's Gap, Tenn. He married Sarah J. L. Palmer, Nov. 26, 1857. She was born in Ohio in 1840. Only one child is listed:

C. Deleway, pastor of the Baptist Church officiating. William was a son of William Dunn and Lucy (Hall) Dunn, and was born at Acton, Mass., Mar. 1, 1816. They moved to Aurora, Ill., in 1852, and he died there in 1889. She died at Council Bluffs, Iowa, Jan. 8, 1907, aged 83 years. They had nine children:

DAVID SMITH 7.152a, first son of Ephraim Smith 6.91a and Lucinda (Pressey) Smith, was born in Pawlet, Vt., Aug. 5, 1839. On Oct. 27, 1869, at Winfield, Ill., he married Harriet Leora VanDervalgan. She was born at Root, Montgomery County, N.Y., Apr. 30, 1849. He served in Company H, 124th Illinois Volunteer Infantry in the Western Army, during the Civil War, and was shot through the right wrist at Fort Hill before Vicksburg. He was in the hospital at Jefferson Barracks 10 months, when his uncle Hall went there and brought him home. The hand was amputated there at home. The following spring he was elected Sheriff of Kane County. He boarded at the home of his deputy, Mr. Whipple. The next summer, Miss Harriet Leora VanDervalgan, a teacher, spent part of her summer vacation there. They met and were married on Oct. 27, 1869, and moved to the farm at Sugar Grove, Ill., the following Spring. They both died at Sugar Grove, she on Nov. 25, 1912, aged 63 years, and he on Apr. 13, 1923, at the age of 84. Their four children were:

ULIA SMITH 7.152d, second daughter of Ephraim Smith 6.91a and Lucinda (Pressey) Smith, was born at Sugar Grove, Ill., June 3, 1850. She married Flavel T. Watkins, date not known. He was born at Malone, N.Y., in 1849. She died at Batavia, Ill., Jan. 28, 1884, when her daughter was just 4 days old, and she was buried in Sugar Grove Cemetery. He remarried, but name of his second wife is unknown. He died at Franklin, Mo., in 1933. He was buried in the Franklin Cemetery beside his second wife. The daughter of Julia and Flavel was:
